Vicinity Motor, an electric, CNG, gasoline, and diesel vehicles supplier, has given information about its new VMC 1200. It is an all-electric Class 3 medium-duty commercial truck. The 150kWh Li-ion battery pack is capable of outputting 1,085 Nm of torque. That’s what the vehicle’s electric powertrain consists of. It has a range of 150 miles on a full charge. Also, the vehicle also has a 2,722kg load capacity. The Canada-based Vicinity has in fact leveraged its own EV experience in cab-over design.

Drivetrain Systems

Moreover, VMC has announced that it will use Danfoss Editron drivetrain systems in its medium-duty fully electric Vicinity Lightning EV Bus. It will feature a Buy America Compliant 220kW motor. Also an Eaton multispeed transmission. In fact, the buses are also fitted with a digital Avionics controller and inverters to enable intelligent management of the vehicle’s operations. In fact, the drivetrain system does weigh only 85kg. It is much lighter than some on the market. It can weigh 500kg.
